In 2023, Serotonergic Therapeutics was established by Jakub. The genesis of this pioneering approach traces back to 2017 when Jakub embarked on a transformative journey involving the experimental use of psilocybin, a psychoactive compound found in Magic Mushrooms. This profound shift in his life trajectory was precipitated by a decade-long battle with addiction, which left him in a profound state of major depressive disorder, accompanied by severe physical and emotional distress, pushing him perilously close to a self-destructive precipice. In his own words, he candidly admitted, "It was either this path or I contemplated leaving this world." Following his inaugural night of psilocybin exploration, Jakub awoke to a sensation of unparalleled vitality and rebirth. While the experience itself proved arduous, he gained invaluable insights, shedding negative layers from his psyche. This awakening prompted his exploration of concepts such as "Ego Death" and "Reincarnation," initially encountered within the psychedelic community and later embraced in the realm of psychology, marking the inception of his profound curiosity and intellectual journey. Over time, Jakub undertook the meticulous self-administration of psilocybin, concurrently addressing and healing residual mental health issues and past behavioral challenges. His pursuit of knowledge extended to the domain of neuroscience, where he sought to unravel the intricate workings of brain cells. In this process, he gained a deep appreciation for the pivotal role of serotonin and other neurotransmitters in daily life. While a sense of comprehension began to dawn, his inquiries remained unquenched, inspiring him to delve deeper into this realm, consistently broadening his expertise. Subsequently, Jakub ventured into a comprehensive self-study of behavioral neuroscience, psychology, genetics, brain development, and the therapeutic potential of psilocybin, as witnessed in clinical trials. This endeavor marked the dawn of a particularly intriguing phase for Jakub, as he recognized that our behavioral patterns are shaped by our life experiences, encompassing both positive and negative aspects. In 2021, after an intensive four-year journey and several further psilocybin sessions, Jakub underwent an epiphanous experience that signified the culmination of his personal trauma-healing odyssey. This pivotal juncture motivated him to extend his guidance and support to individuals embarking on their own healing journeys. Armed with his extensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of the responsible application of psilocybin, he envisioned assisting individuals in their personal growth, development, and the integration of their psilocybin experiences, as well as the application of mindfulness tools for enhanced well-being in daily life. It is important to note that Jakub, at present, does not hold a formal licensure in the mental health field. This affords him the opportunity to provide trip-sitting services and therapeutic guidance in the context of psilocybin-assisted therapy, while also considering further education in the mental health domain in the near future
